Why is engine oil "lost"?

After changing the engine oil, there is often a phenomenon of oil "loss" after a period of operation. This is because the oil cannot fully fill every gap of the engine when it is first added. After operation, the oil fills every gap of the engine, creating a feeling of "oil loss". In fact, the "lost" oil generally does not exceed one sixth of the added amount.
